Boats moored in Scarborough Harbour

Call for Lighthouse Attendant during the summer season. If staff are not on duty either Harbour Office or Port Control will respond.

Navigation

Registration

All visiting craft are required to make their presence known to the harbour authority within 24 hours. Registration is obligatory and forms are available from the Lighthouse Attendant,the Harbour Office and Port Control.

Moorings

Pontoon

A limited number of berths are available in the outer harbour on pontoon moorings in the south-west corner or the harbour below the light house.

Drying Alongside

A small number of berths available in the outer harbour just north of the drawbridge.

Length of Stay

This is restricted to 14 days.

Lighthouse Attendant

These are located in the lighthouse on the Vincent Pier. Lighthouse opening hours.

Slipway

Located on Sandside and the keys are available from the Lighthouse Attendant during the summer season.

Speed

All craft to maintain a slow speed within Harbour Limits.

Safety and Security

Please take note of the safety equipment provided and its location. Port Control is a 24 hour watch keeping system employing CCTV surveillance.

Fire Drill

Raise the alarm, contact Port Control or the Lighthouse. Harbour staff will contact the fire services if they have not already been called. Clear the area of any people particularly down wind of fire. Leave the area in an orderly manner.

Mooring Lines

Ensure that your craft is properly secured with bow, stern lines and springs adequate to requirements.

Facilities

Facilities available at the harbour.

A full list of charges is available. These are also displayed at the Harbour Office.

Pets

Keep these on a lead and do not let them foul the pontoons or footpaths.

Applying for a Permanent Berth

We operate a waiting list procedure. It is £25 to join the waiting list and this deposit will be deducted from the first invoice when a berth is accepted. Application Form (PDF File).
