The cargo prices for Whitby Harbour are:
Harbour Act 1964 – Whitby Harbour Dues and Charges
Effective as from the 1st day of April 2009
All dues payable within 24 hours of entry or demand. Failure to comply may result in on-cost charges for administration. All calculations of overall length will be inclusive of fixtures and fittings.
Rates for Vessels Using the Harbour
Foreign and Coastwise Vessels
(per nett registered ton)
Any vessel entering the Harbour in circumstances which, in the opinion of the Harbour Master, constitute an emergency, shall be charged a minimum entry fee of £30 together with the actual cost of attendance on that vessel.
Vessels with cargo from or to any place in or outside the UK
Per entry: £1.00
Fairway Dues
Vessels less than 750GRT: £8.10
Vessels greater than 750 GRT: £9.40
Other vessels putting in for shelter
Per entry: £1.00
Vessels remaining in Harbour for more than one week
Per additional week: £1.00
Non-Cargo Carrying Commercial Vessels
(such category of vessel to be determined in each case at the discretion of the Harbour Master)
Per metre of overall length – per day: £2.00
Per metre of overall length – per week: £9.35
Per metre of overall length – per month: £31.10
All measurements will be to the nearest highest 0.10 metre.
Rates on Persons Landing or Embarking Within the Harbour
For persons landing or embarking within the Harbour inclusive of baggage. One charge only per cruise passenger landing and embarking on the same day
Per person: £1.10
Quay Dues - Storage
For each tonne of goods stowing at less than 1.415 cubic metres per tonne
Per tonne per 24 hours or part thereof: £0.36
For each tonne of goods stowing at more than 1.415 cubic metres per tonne
Per cubic metre per 24 hours or part thereof: £0.29
Wharfage Rates
On Goods shipped or unshipped or transhipped within the Harbour or otherwise imported or exported therefrom
Timber
In the round and/or deals, boards and battens square sawn: £0.56 per cubic metre
Fresh Water
Charge relates to vessels supplied ex wharf: £44.20 per order
Other Goods
All other Goods, produce, articles or things not enumerated above (except for special cargoes)
Light Goods: £0.71 per cubic metre
Heavy Goods: £1.00
per tonne weight
Note: In charging wharfage rates on goods, Mates' receipts, bills of lading and other documents relating to weight and/or volume or cargo shall be open for the inspection of the Collector of Rates and Dues at all reasonable times.
Charges for special types and quantities of cargo may be obtained on application.
Berthing, Mooring and Shifting Vessels
Berthing and Unberthing (inclusive)
These rates shall apply to all cargo vessels using Harbour Authority berths
Vessels less than 600 tons GRT: £84.25
Vessels more than 600 tons GRT: £135.50
Shifting and Standby
50% of the rates quoted above.
Standby is the fee to be charged on cargo vessels in port, if Harbour Staff are actually in attendance, following a Master's request for same, and the movement is subsequently cancelled.
Miscellaneous
Movement of Vessels
Vessels moved within the Harbour by the Harbour Master: On-costed wages, minimum £55.25
Hire of Crane
Per hour or part thereof (minimum 2 hours): £47.75
Use of Weighbridge
Fee: £7.40
Use of Forklift Truck
Per hour or part thereof (minimum 2 hours): £17.75
