The slipway is located at the south end of the marina car park.

It is accessible at most states of the tide with exception of low water springs when it is accessible for 4 hours either side of High Water.

Launching Notice

Please read this important notice regarding the launching of vessels

Insurance

While we do not require a copy of your insurance documents you are required to sign the launch permit stating that you hold insurance to a minimum of £1,000,000 third party and state the name of your insurance company.

Staying Overnight

You are welcome to launch your vessel and then stay overnight. Please confirm mooring arrangements with the Marina Attendant. Marina Office opening hours.

Car Parking

Car parking is available for your vehicle and trailer. Please contact Marina Attendant to purchase a permit.

Safety

While the Council has no legislative powers to insist on the equipment you take with you we do recommend:

lifejackets are available for all crew
flares on board
all children wear lifejackets while near the water
VHF
compass
anchor and line
fire extinguishers
audible warning
torch

Free safety checks are available locally from the RNLI

Loading crew

Diving boats and day launch boats are prohibited from using the marina pontoons for loading and unloading. There is a pontoon located in the Dock End Basin. Please use it.

What to do if the Marina Office is unmanned

Your fees can be paid at the Harbour Office on Endeavour Wharf during normal working hours.

Alternatively:

1. Make a clear note of your name, address, the name of your vessel and its length, along with your time/date of entry and departure, on a piece of paper/envelope with money enclosed, and post this through the letter-box at the Marina Office or in the letter box at the Harbour Office on Endeavour Wharf.
2. As 1. above except instead of writing the details on paper, phone them through to the Harbour Office on 01947 602354, within 24 hours of departure (72 hours as weekends).

Staff on Whitby Bridge and in other Scarborough Borough Council offices are not authorised to handle any monies or correspondence associated with Harbour Dues.
