We operate a waiting list procedure. It is £25 to join the waiting list and this deposit will be deducted from the first invoice when a berth is accepted. Application Form.
The berthing season runs from 1 April to 31 October each year and winter moorings run from 1 November to 31 March and are optional for berth holders.
All craft to maintain a slow speed within Harbour Limits.
Features include: Fire alarms on the church street and west side pontoons. Rescue ladders are also fitted to these pontoons (please take note of where these are located).
Raise the alarm, contact either Marina Office/ Harbour Office/ Watchkeepers Office who will contact the fire services if they have not already been called. Clear the area of any people particularly down wind of fire. Leave the area in an orderly manner.
Ensure that your craft is properly secured with bow, stern lines and springs adequate to requirements.
All berth holders must produce a copy of their insurance with a minimum third party limit of £1,000,000. The Council does offer third party cover for our berth holders with a signed berthing contract under the harbour insurance scheme.
A signed berthing contract agreeing to the berthing conditions must be signed by all leisure craft moored within the harbour limits and all craft on council moorings. Please take note of and comply with the berthing conditions.
All pontoon moorings are double moored unless otherwise stated. (You will share your allocated mooring space with another vessel so please take care to use appropriate fendering.)
The leisure craft are serviced by the marina office which is located on the car park adjacent to the west side pontoon. The opening hours of the marina office reflect the seasonal fluctuation of vessels and visitors.
A full list of charges is available. These are also displayed at the Marina Office and the Harbour Office.
These are payable by all vessels within harbour limits and run from 1 April to 31 March. They are payable by the owner on 1 April unsolicited – however it is usual practice to be invoiced for all charges.
Berth holders requesting a transfer to some other berth are asked to submit their requests in writing to the Harbour Office. These are processed in strict order as from the date of request and as and when a suitable berth becomes available.
Keep these on a lead and do not let them foul the pontoons or footpaths.
