Tall Ship berthed in Whitby Harbour

Berth areas available in Whitby are:

Whitby Fish Quay

This is situated on the west side of the outer harbour and is reserved for the use of vessels landing fish products. Other craft may use the quay while waiting for a berth in the upper harbour providing they do not impede fishing craft and their vessels are not left unattended.

New Quay Road / Dock End Basin

These areas are reserved for fishing vessels and commercial craft only. Privately-owned craft are not allowed to berth in this area. New Quay Road is designated as a refuge berth for trawlers from 1 October to 31 March each year.

Endeavour Wharf and Eskside Wharf

These areas are for use by cargo-carrying vessels and as refuge berths for large fishing craft only. Visiting craft may be berthed on the cargo wharves by prior arrangement with Whitby Harbour Office only.

Church Street Jetty

This is reserved for smaller fishing and commercial vessels only.

Visitors' Berths

A limited number of berths are available for visiting private craft and are situated on the north end of the pontoon, on the west side of the upper harbour. Visiting craft may be directed to other vacant berths by harbour staff.

West and East Side Pontoon Moorings

These are primarily reserved for the mooring of private leisure craft.

East Side Party Pontoon

This is primarily reserved for the mooring of passenger vessels.
