Boat in Whitby Harbour

Pilotage fees are applicable at Whitby Harbour. Fees 2009/10

For Every Vessel Entering or Leaving the Harbour

Based on length of vessels (for every metre or part thereof): £1.31
Attendance / Detention: £37.02
Tug Operation: £4.56

The above fees are paid by the Competent Harbour Authority (CHA) to the Pilots under a separate contract.

Fees Paid to Scarborough Borough Council (CHA)

Pilot Boat Operation (Boarding and Landing Fees)

Vessel length of <60m: £93.30
Vessel length of >60m and <70m: £115.65
Vessel length of >70m and <80m: £124.95
Vessel length of >80m: £137.70

Tug Operation

Fee: £26.40

Pilot Boat – Non-Pilotage Duties Per Hour

Or Part Thereof: £74.45 plus
Boarding and Landing (per person): £19.25

The above fees are collected direct by the CHA out of which the following Boatmen’s fees must be paid (per hour):

Boatmen (Whitby Pilot Boat)

Weekdays, Normal Hours: £11.05 per hour
Weekdays, Normal Overtime: £17.60 per hour
Weekdays, Midnight to 6.00am: £22.00 per hour
Saturdays: £17.60 per hour
Sundays: £22.00 per hour
