Navigation - Pilotage Fees
Boat in Whitby Harbour

Pilotage fees are applicable at Whitby Harbour. Fees 2007/08

For Every Vessel Entering or Leaving the Harbour

Based on length of vessels (for every metre or part thereof): £1.26
Attendance / Detention: £35.60
Tug Operation: £4.38

The above fees are paid by the Competent Harbour Authority (CHA) to the Pilots under a separate contract.

Fees Paid to Scarborough Borough Council (CHA)

Pilot Boat Operation (Boarding and Landing Fees)

Vessel length of <60m: £89.72
Vessel length of >60m and <70m: £111.20
Vessel length of >70m and <80m: £120.15
Vessel length of >80m: £132.40

Tug Operation

Fee: £25.40

Pilot Boat – Non-Pilotage Duties Per Hour

Or Part Thereof: £71.60 plus
Boarding and Landing (per person): £18.50

The above fees are collected direct by the CHA out of which the following Boatmen’s fees must be paid (per hour):

Boatmen (Whitby Pilot Boat)

Weekdays, Normal Hours: £10.60 per hour
Weekdays, Normal Overtime: £16.90 per hour
Weekdays, Midnight to 6.00am: £21.15 per hour
Saturdays: £16.90 per hour
Sundays: £21.15 per hour
