Harbour Act 1964 - Whitby Harbour Dues and Charges
Effective as from the 1st day of January 2010
All dues payable within 24 hours of entry or demand. Failure to comply may result in on-cost charges for administration. All calculations of overall length will be inclusive of fixtures and fittings.
All measurements will be to the nearest highest 0.10 metre.
Harbour Dues
Licensed Craft Per metre per year: £37.10
Passenger Dues for Vessels Carrying Not More than 12 passengers (Fishing Parties), in Addition to Harbour Dues
Cobles, Keel Boats and Other Boats:
Vessels licensed to carry not more than 4 passengers: £124.60 (Full year)
Vessels licensed to carry not more than 8 passengers: £249.30 (Full year)
Vessels licensed to carry not more than 12 passengers: £434.30 (Full year)
Vessels licensed to carry not more than 8 passengers - bona fide fisherman*;
Period 1st May to 31st October in each year: £135.30
Period 1st November to 30th April in each year: £113.90

Passenger Boat Licence Fee issued on behalf of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency:

Licensed Pleasure Boat per year: £91.05
* A bona fide fisherman is a person whose principal occupation is that of fishing commercially and whose catch is landed on the Whitby Fish Market and on which fish landing dues are levied.
Upper Harbour Development Berthing and Mooring Fees
Plus 25% for multi-hulled craft except that any multi-hulled vessel with a beam in excess of 4.5 metres will occupy only one berth and be charged at double the mooring fee and harbour dues.
For the period 1st April to 31st October:
Main Pontoon:
Commercial Rate for berths per metre of overall length including fixtures and fittings: £72.60
Church Street and East Side Pontoon Moorings:
Commercial rate per metre of overall length including fixtures and fittings: £65.60
For the period 1st November to 31st March:

Storage of Craft
For the storage of craft during the period 1st November to 31st March:
Per metre of overall length per week: £1.15 (min. £6.70)
(Emergency storage of craft at Harbour Master’s discretion during summer season will be charged at double winter rate)

Rates on persons landing or embarking within the harbour
For persons landing or embarking within the Harbour inclusive of baggage. One charge only per cruise passenger landing and embarking on the same day:
